Leopold Schefer német költő és zeneszerző 1784. július 30-án született a felső-luzsicai Muskauban. Bautzenban tanult; Hermann von Pückler-Muskau gróf bizalmasa volt. Ő tervezte a híres muskaui parkot; üres óráiban az irodalom majdnem minden műfaját kipróbálta. 1862. február 16-án halt meg szülőfalujában.
