Könyörög Istennek, hogy bujdosásában... (Hungarian)
3 Most is csak benned reménségemet, Uram, helyheztettem, Magam rád hadtam, s rád támaszkodtam, tealád vetettem. |
To merciful God, that he might condescend to protect him in his hiding and that he might extend further grace unto him (English)
Merciful deity, unto whose charity my life is delivered: Of burdens relieve me, guide me and lead mer, now friendships are severed. Straight from my infancy thou hast been all to me, mentor and saviour I like a child to thee, following timidly, fretting for favour. My poor hopes steadfastly from childhood exclusively in you are invested. Trusting, I leant on you, gave my assent to you, on you have I rested. What would it profit you to cast my soul off if you leave me in danger, who am saved by thy son, and thy son have become, no longer a stranger? Hear as I pray to thee, for sake of thy name to me, great name of power; Show me beneficence, blessed inheritance, in this my good hour. Reward me according to hopes that I’ve stored in you for my tomorrows; Let me be blessed by thee, I who did trust to thee, bear thou my sorrows. The dew that anointeth the springtime buds pointeth to grace ever verdant; Therefore anoint me, to favour appoint me, thy long faithful servant, That my heart may cherish thy joys till I perish, still singing thy praises, Thy great name, creator than all the world greater, live thou in my phrases. These words of devotion beside the great Ocean I endite for thy reading, In the year ninety one half millennium on from the thousand preceding.
